This is a Native American folktale from the Micmac Tribe, the largest Native American tribe from central Canada.
The story tells of a bored and mischievous rabbit who spread a lie to try and liven up his day.
Unfortunately for him, the animals spread the lie to the forests' far corners, creating pandemonium.
Find out how his lie is revealed and what happens to the rabbit.

I wrote this as an essay in High school. My teacher submitted it in an essay contest without my knowledge. I won 1st place and came in 2nd in the regional. This was back in 1987. I've seen various versions since then on the internet including books on Amazon.
