Listening to this story, considering the questions that accompany it (below) and following it up with an adventure of your own is a great way to boost your wellbeing.
This is a story written and told by Danny English. A tale of a tadpole who didn't like the idea of becoming a frog and instead wanted to be a bird. Along the way he sees three beautiful birds and meets a friendly hedgehog. Find out if the tadpole ever does get to see the world from above or feel the wind in its feathers.
after the story consider these following questions:
The tadpole really wants to be a bird but is told time and time gain that he will never be bird. Has anybody ever told you that you can't do something that you desperately want to? How did it make you feel?
The tadpole seems like he knows what he wants to be when he grows older, do you know what you'd like to be when you grow older? It's okay to say no, I'm in my 40's and dont know.
In the end the tadpole is transformed so he can see the world from the sky. If you could choose to be any creature in the world what would you be and why?
After these questions take a walk to a local pond and see if you can:
See the three birds mentioned in the story; Robin, Blackbird and Magpie.
Can you notice different characteristics in each of the birds?
Spot some tadpoles in the water.
Sit and liten to the sounds of nature, they're abundant by water.
