Story- The Boy Who Cried Wolf
This story is one of Aesops Fables, it's origins lie in Greece and it's over 600 years old!! Aesop was a slave and storyteller in Greece and many of his stories have travelled across the world being shared with generations of children.
This is a story that Danny was told as a boy by his parents, it was told to share a really important lesson about the importance of telling the truth.
This story can lead to some great discussions about morals, one the story is over consider theses questions:
1) Should we always tell the truth?
2) Are all 'lies' the same?
3) Is there ever a time when telling a lie is okay?
4) How might this story been different if the boy had told the truth?

Hi Karen, Glad you enjoyed the story. It often sparks some very interesting discussions. We have a distinction between a 'fib' and a 'lie' a fib is an untruth that doesn't hurt anybody, it can be encourage humour or even help lift somebody's spirits. A lie is an untruth that causes hurt, puts somebody in danger or causes trouble. Fibs are fine but should be approached with caution, lies are never good.
