Storytelling- The Owl was a Bakers Daughter
Have you ever been out walking on starry night and heard the distant 'hoot' of an owl? I have, and it always fills me with excitement but also a sense of wonder as they're always near impossible to see.
In this story we learn about two sisters who work in a bakery and an elderly visitor who reveals why owls 'hoot'.
After listening to the story consider the following questions:
1- In the story the greedy and selfish girl is turned into an owl, did the old lady make a good choice of animal?
2- If you had the power to change the girl into an animal which animal would you choose and why?
3- Have you ever considered being an animal? If you could be an animal what would you choose and why?
4- Do all owl's make the 'hoot-hoot' noise? Try and find out.
