In this lovely little bedtime story written by Eric Care, we meet a star gazing young girl called Monika and her dedicated Papa.
One night Monika calls out to the moon to come and play and asked her Papa to bring the moon to Earth. The willing father wants to do everything possible to please his daughter but how will he 'bring down the moon' for her to play with?
Following this story consider trying the follow activities and questions:
As a family stay up late and watch the moon in the sky- look carefully at the moons surface, what can you see? A face, an animal?
Do you know the phases of the moon? Learn about how long it takes the moon to go from 'full' to 'new' and back again?
Try and count the moons throughout the year- how many full moons do we get?
Monika wanted to 'play with the moon'- if you could spend one day playing with the moon what would you do together?
