One of our favourite things to do is head to the woods and string up a hammock, have you ever wondered what it might be like to experience the forest from a totally different perspective?
In this video we teach you how, and through our additional resources provide you with some nature connection activities to do once you're merrily swinging the day away!
This activity benefits your family in the following ways:
1) Get Active - find a woodland walk that is going to take you longer to complete - perfect excuse then to stop and hang your hammock for a snack or lunch amongst the trees.
2) Keep Learning - knowing how to hang a hammock safely for short periods of time is important so as not to damage the trees.
3)Be Mindful - Adding this new element into family walks can give you new view on the world around you and you may notice new things not seen before. Take a few quiet moments in the hammock to notice the sounds, smells and views that catch your eyes - it may even be the clouds.
4)Practice Kindness - As children grow up consider this as something to gift them, you may help maintain their relationship with the great outdoors when you aren't even there with this simple hammock packed in their bag.
5) Think Community - Take the time to share the things that you noticed, tips or things that changed for you by simply adding that hammock to your walk in the comments below.
